Training of students and arming them with life and communication skills have become inevitable for their better campus placements. Along with technical proficiency, overall personality development and impeccable communication skills are the need of the hour. The Training and Skill Development team at G L Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management thus works relentlessly to refine these skills of the students and enhance their employability skills through year round trainings. To accomplish this task with perfection, the department has a dedicated team of trainers who pride themselves in mentoring the students and hand-holding them not only till they get a campus recruitment but also in their journey ahead.
LEAP (Learning and Employability Assessment Program) Training
Our LEAP training module is divided into two segments –Aptitude training and Soft Skills training. Aptitude training is further divided into Verbal Aptitude and Quantitative Aptitude. The training is imparted to all the branches of UG and PG.
The module on Verbal Aptitude and Soft Skills has been designed as a 40- 60 hrs program to be covered in four semesters. (III, IV, V and VI semesters).

Objectives of Verbal Ability and Soft Skills Training
• To refine the English Language Skills of students who have had their medium of instruction as Hindi in their schools or who belong to rural areas where they did not have an appropriate English speaking environment.
• To conduct exemplary Verbal Ability and Soft skills training for the campus placement.
• To uplift students’ self-confidence, communication skills, overall personality and employability skills.
• To provide platform to nurture every student’s English Language Skills (spoken, written, presentation skills), grammar, fluency and confidence.
• To organize various workshops to boost students’ holistic personality development that help students’ transition smoothly into corporate life.
• To assess every student’s performance in a methodical way and provide training on weak areas and resolve development issues through detailed interaction and question answers sessions.
Learning Outcome of the Verbal Training and Soft skills training
On completing the module on Verbal Aptitude and Softskills, the student will be able to:
• To effectively communicate his/her thoughts in a confident way.
• To improve his written and spoken skills in English.
• To crack the preliminary rounds of the tests conducted for campus recruitment by various companies.
• To confidently clear the interview rounds of the companies hiring through campus recruitment.
• To exhibit appropriate mannerisms required in the corporate world. (e.g.good presentation skills, proper pronunciation, tone, gestures, correct dressing sense. etc.)
Quantitative Aptitude
Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning has been designed as a 40-60 hrs program to be completed in four semesters. Quantitative Aptitude has been designed in order to develop and sharpen the mathematical concepts in a student. In short aptitude is what characterizes the analytical and application ability of an individual because it is very much essential for humans to think logically in complex situations. This is more evident nowadays than ever, when we can see aptitude as being primary to every recruitment team’s assessment of students. This is because aptitude is what predicts how students will perform in their actual job.
Objectives of Quantitative Aptitude
• To assess one’s ability to solve problems.
• To help the student in improving speed, timeframe, power to recollect, assimilate and apply them in solving day to day problems.
• To help the student analyse and make sense of the given data.
• To improve the thinking capability in students and enable them to take right decisions.
Learning Outcomes of Quantitative Aptitude
On completing the module on Quantitative Aptitude the student will be able to:
• To take decisions or draw conclusions effectively using practices of probabilities, ratio, etc.
• To interpret statistical data in an efficient way which will help them in correct analysis and draw accurate conclusions.
• To create as well as use the visual displays of data through graphs, tables and charts.
