Indian Sales Force Community Conference
Dept.of MCA hosted the biggest ever Salesforce Conference on 30th September, 2017 where in around 40 international speakers addressed the gathering of more than 2000 audience comprised of the developers, Salesforce users, partners, admins, students and other participants. The conference aimed to provide an opportunity to share and acquire knowledge in the CRM field for people working or doing business in a variety of sectors. In addition to presentations and speeches by the world-class sport experts, the conference also offered access to the participants to both basic and advanced CRM knowledge, and accentuated the importance of CRM practices in developing the global industry.
The conference started with the lamp lighting by the Director of the institute and the invited keynote speakers. In his welcome note, Prof. Agrawal said that the conference is not only useful for the developers but also for the aspirants of the jobs as salesforce jobs are not only limited to engineering graduates. He shared his delight in welcoming Key note speakers Erica Kuhl-VP of Community, Holly- Firestone Director of Community, Peter Coffee -VP for Strategic Research Rajdeep Dua – Director- Developer Relation and speakers for various sessions from USA, Srilanka, Turkey, etc.
Erica Kuhl-VP of Salesforce Community told that Salesforce is an American cloud computing company headquartered in San Francisco, California with regional headquarters in Morges, Switzerland (covering Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Singapore), India (covering Asia Pacific minus Japan), and Tokyo. Other major offices are in Toronto, Chicago, New York City, London, Sydney, Dublin, Hyderabad, San Mateo, California, Indianapolis, and Hillsboro, Oregon. It is one of the most highly valued American cloud computing companies with a market capitalization above $61 billion. She told that Salesforce is also the world’s #1 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform which provides cloud-based applications for sales, service, marketing, and more.
Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) service is broken down into several broad categories: Commerce Cloud, Sales Cloud,Service Cloud, Data Cloud, (including Jigsaw), Marketing Cloud, Community Cloud (including Chatter), Analytics Cloud, App Cloud, and IoT with over 100,000 customers. She also told that salesforce culture is built around the Hawaiian concept of Ohana, which means family. Ohana is the deep-seated support system that extends from salesforce employees to the customers, partners and communities. She told that salesforce provides free learning platform wherein the aspirants can learn through free online tutorials and tools. There are around 300 levels which an aspirant can go for.
After successfully clearing every level the aspirant gets a badge which is known as trailhead. Holly- Firestone Director of SalesforceCommunity told that the aspirant can also take help of MVPs (Most Important Persons) who are actually the salesforce experts and help the aspirants to learn salesforce. Peter Coffee -VP for Strategic Research told that the salesforce offers wide range of jobs for the professionals including engineering, medicine, marketing banking, insurance, etc.
Rajdeep Dua – Director- Developer Relation told that the number of earned trailheads (badges) Indicates expertise of a salesforce professional and the companies decide on recruitment based number of badges. He also told that the wide range of companies including TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, etc offers jobs to salesforce experts.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chairman of the institute Pankaj Agarwal told that salesforce jobs offers 20-40 % higher starting salary in comparison to Jave, C++ , etc. Keeping the upcoming market need of salesforce professionals, GL Bajaj has already started with salesforce sessions for the students. In all, the conference not only proved useful for salesforce experts but also for professors, and students who are performing their teaching, training and learning tasks at education and training institutes to exchange and discuss their viewpoints, and make their opinions and experience known to native and foreign renowned Salesforce experts.
