FDP On Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

The Six-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Artificial Intelligence: Machine Learning commenced today at GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, organized by the Department of MCA in collaboration with E&ICT Academy and IIT Guwahati. The program aims to equip faculty members with in-depth knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), enabling them to integrate cutting-edge technology into their teaching and research methodologies.
The event began with a warm welcome by the hosts, who extended greetings to the dignitaries, guest speakers, faculty members, and national and international participants attending virtually. The inaugural session was graced by esteemed personalities, including Mr. Kaushlendra Singh Sisodia (Founder & CEO, UniConverge Technologies Pvt Ltd, The IoT Academy, Noida), Dr. Gaurav Trivedi (Professor, EEE Department, IIT Guwahati), Ms. Feroza Haque (Project Manager, E&ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati), and Mr. Aswani Kumar (FDP Faculty Instructor).
The ceremonial lamp-lighting marked the auspicious beginning of the event, symbolizing wisdom and knowledge. Following this, Dr. R. K. Mishra, Director of GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the role of AI and ML in shaping the future of education and industry. He highlighted how AI is transforming various sectors and the importance of such FDPs in preparing faculty members to educate students on emerging technologies effectively.
The first keynote session was delivered by Mr. Kaushlendra Singh Sisodia, a distinguished expert with over 22 years of industry experience in IoT and digital transformation. He shared valuable insights into the convergence of AI, IoT, and industrial applications, emphasizing their role in smart cities, agriculture, cold storage, and predictive maintenance. He also discussed his contributions to the Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission and the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), inspiring faculty members to leverage AI for innovation and societal benefits.
The second keynote session was presented by Dr. Gaurav Trivedi, an esteemed professor from IIT Guwahati, who provided an in-depth understanding of machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and AI-driven decision-making systems. His session was highly engaging and informative, offering practical insights into AI research and applications.
The next speaker, Ms. Feroza Haque, who joined virtually, shared her experiences as a Project Manager at E&ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati. With over 12 years of combined teaching and industry experience, she discussed the challenges and advancements in AI education, stressing the need for continuous learning and upskilling to keep pace with evolving technology.
The final session of the day was conducted by Mr. Aswani Kumar, an expert in AI and ML, who has extensive experience working in academia and software development in the United States and India. He led an engaging technical session on AI fundamentals, explaining core concepts with hands-on demonstrations.
The first day of the FDP set the stage for an informative and insightful six-day learning experience. Participants actively engaged in discussions, and the sessions provided them with a deeper understanding of AI and ML concepts. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Madhu Gaur (Head, MCA & FDP Coordinator), who expressed gratitude to the esteemed speakers, participants, and organizers. The FDP will continue for the next five days, covering advanced topics in deep learning, AI ethics, neural networks, and industrial applications, ensuring that faculty members gain comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in AI and ML. This program is expected to be a transformative learning opportunity, fostering innovation, research, and technical excellence among educators.
