workshop on Spirit of Computing
Objective: “Workshop aims to introduce elements of algorithm design techniques, elementary complexity with concepts and different theories consolidated with examples. This workshop strives to enable the participants’ learning with fun”.
Workshop Outcomes:
The workshop outcomes are understanding of:
(a) The brief historical developments in various facets of computers
(b) The early quests of mathematicians for the essence of what it means to carry out mechanical computations (algorithms)
(c) The means of quantifying the complexity of the algorithms
(d) Classifications of problems – P, NP, NP–Complete, and NP–Hard, with examples
(e) Problems which have eluded efficient solutions
(f) Problem transformations.
