Workshop on RoboAnalyzer A Robotic Simulation Software developed at Robotics and Mechatronics lab

A half day workshop on "RoboAnalyzer” A Robotic Simulation Software developed at Robotics and Mechatronics lab, under the supervision of Prof S K Saha, IIT Delhi was conducted at G.L. Bajaj campus in the Mechanical Engineering Department on 15-11-2019. The workshop was started by welcoming Dr. Paramanand V. Nandihal Post-Doctoral Researcher, Mechatronics lab Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT, Delhi. Currently Dr Nandihal is working as a research assistant at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in the Department of Sciences and Technology (DST) sponsored project titled “Design and development of Three-Link Rigid-Flexible Manipulator for High-Speed Operations”.
RoboAnalyzer is 3D model based software that can be used to teach and learn the Concept of Robotics. It is an evolving product developed in Mechatronics Lab, Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Delhi, New Delhi, India. A lecture and hands-on training session on “Learning Robot kinematics by using RoboAnalyser software was conducted for the select group of final year students who are involved in the Robotics project and ABB robot in the robotics laboratory in the Mechanical Engineering Department at G L Bajaj Institute of Technology & Management, Greater Noida. Following topics were covered during the workshop:
Robot Classification
Serial manipulator with prismatic and revolute joints
DH parameters as input
3D model generated based on DH parameters
Visualize DH parameters
Forward and Inverse Kinematics
Forward and Inverse Dynamics
Homogeneous Transformation Matrix
Animation with trace of end-effector
Plot graphs and Virtual robot Module
At the end of the session Prof V R Mishra Head of the department extended a vote of thanks with memento presentation to the expert. After successful completion of the workshop Dr Paramanand V Nandihal also interacted with the students in Robotics and Automation lab. He appreciated the students work and ongoing projects in the lab. Prof S S Chauhan has presented the main outcome of this workshop was to providing hands on training on “RoboAnalyser” tool (www.roboanalyzer.com) for better learning Robotics concepts and also for student’s projects. Dr Chauhan also acknowledged to Prof S K Saha, IIT Delhi for his valuable kind support for the successful conduction of the workshop.
