Voter ID Card Registration Campaign
To empower students and the broader educational community by facilitating the voter registration process, the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) organized a robust and impactful “Voter ID Card Registration Campaign”from 4th to 9th December, 2023 in our college GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management recognizing the pivotal role that active citizenship plays in shaping a democratic society, the campaign sought to educate and engage students in the electoral process.
The primary objective of the Voter ID Card Registration Campaign led by the ELC is to empower students within the educational community by facilitating the voter registration process.
The Voter ID Card Registration Campaign at our college, encompassing a student body of 6,339, sought to address the critical issue of 812 students who were not included in the voting lists. The comprehensive campaign aimed to educate and facilitate the voter registration process, fostering a culture of active citizenship. Despite the successful registration of 645 students, a notable segment of the college population exhibited disinterest in the procedures, revealing the challenge of engaging this specific cohort. On 9th December evening, we have successfully submitted all the documentation to the SDM,Gautam Buddha Nagar , Mr. Ankit Kumar.
The ELC Club's Voter ID Card Registration Campaign successfully engaged students in the electoral process, contributing to the development of a culture of active citizenship within the educational community. By empowering students to participate in the democratic process, the campaign has not only increased voter registration but has also fostered a sense of responsibility and civic pride among the student body. Continued efforts in this direction will undoubtedly contribute to the growth of a vibrant and engaged citizenry.
