Session on Innovation and Technologies in area of Software Defined Vehicles

On Dec., 1, 2023 a lecture on Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs) was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, featuring two distinguished resource persons: Dr. Indu Pandey Tiwari, Innovator and Technical Leader at L&T Technology Services, Bangalore, and Er. Jai Deo Tiwari, Senior Specialist Innovator at L&T Technology Services, Bengaluru. The session began with an introduction to the concept of SDVs and their growing importance in the automotive industry. The speakers provided a historical perspective on the evolution of SDVs, focusing on the development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and the integration of cutting-edge software components into modern vehicles. They also explored the role of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and sensor fusion technologies, such as radar, lidar, and cameras, in advancing autonomous driving technologies.
The lecture concluded with an insightful discussion on the future trends in SDVs, including the significance of edge computing and continuous advancements in AI. The speakers emphasized the collaborative ecosystems needed to drive innovation in the field. The students actively participated in a Q&A session, gaining clarity on various aspects of SDVs and their implications. In closing, the event was wrapped up with remarks from Dr. Mohit Bansal (HOD-EEE), Dr. Jay Singh (Prof.-EEE), Dr. Nagendra Kumar (Associate Prof.-EEE), Mrs. Priyanka Datta (Asst. Prof.-EEE), and Mr. Rahul Singh (Asst.-EEE), who thanked the speakers and participants. The lecture successfully bridged theoretical concepts with practical applications, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of the transformative impact of software in the automotive sector.
