Faculty Training Program on Powering Innovation with Texas Instruments

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with the GL Bajaj TBI (GLBCRI) and Institute’s Innovation Council of GLBITM, Greater Noida organized a Faculty Training Program on “Powering Innovation with Texas Instruments" on 10th August 2022 (11:30 AM- 1:00 PM). This training program aimed to train the educators about usage of Texas Instruments IoT and Embedded System for designing innovative prototypes and projects. The session aimed to provide experiential learning using TI technology and bridge the gap between academia and industry standards. Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) is a global semiconductor design and manufacturing company that develops analog ICs and embedded processors. By employing the world's brightest minds, TI creates innovations that shape the future of technology. 
The session started with the welcome address by Dr. Satyendra Sharma (HoD- ECE department). The speaker of the first session was Mr. Karthik Singaram, IoT Architect, EdGate Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. The speaker started the session with introducing Texas Instruments and gave a detailed description of IoT4U kit having Arduino Uno, Raspberry Pico, ESP32 and STM 32 integrated on the kit along with various sensors. He also demonstrated some IoT based experiments showcasing its usefulness as a starter kit for training students on IoT based innovative projects.
The speaker of the second session was Mr. Samarth Kulkarni, Embedded System Engineer, EdGate Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. The speaker gave a detailed description of various devices such as LoRaWAN based T&H Sensor, GPS Tracker, PIR Motion Sensor, Location Beacon, Energy Meter, Bluetooth Gateway and Beacon Tracker. Then the speaker discussed about various TI products such as Tiva TM4C123GXL, MSP430, CC32205 Launchpad, CC3100 Booster Pack etc. 
The training program witnessed the active participation of 24 faculty members of ECE department. The training program was concluded with a Q&A session, followed by a Vote of Thanks by faculty coordinator Dr. Astha Sharma (Innovation Ambassador and Innovation Coordinator- IIC GLBITM).
