Expert lecture on Robotics and AI ML - Driving Industry 4.0

The Deptt of Mechanical Engineering organized an expert lecture on Robotics and AI+ML: Driving Industry 4.0. The guest speaker of this event was Prof. Shyamanta M Hazarika. The session started with a welcome speech of Dr.Ashish Gupta, Associate Professor, Deptt of ME, followed by inspiring words by Dr. Rajeev Agrawal, Director, GLBITM, Greater Noida. Further, the session was continued by an overwhelmingand visionary presentation by Professor & Head of the Mechanical Engineering Deptt Dr. Vinod Kumar Yadav. Over 56 faculties and students from the different institutes joined to hear the expert talk. Prof. Hazarika started his lecture by an introduction of AI, ML and Robotics. Further, he discussed the emerging technologies with ultimate goal of current robotic to artificial intelligence leading to Industry 4.0. Prof. Hazarika highlighted the importance of digitization and integration to drive the theme of precision engineering. He highlighted that the emerging technologies for Mechanical Engineers are nanoelectromechanical systems, precision engineering, biomimetic, 4D printing and digital twins (digital representation of real objects). He emphasized that the Mechanical Engineers must focus on CYBER PHYSICAL SYSTEMS (CPS), a system of collaborating computational elements, that controls the physical entities for assurance of the digitization and integration for smart manufacturing.
