Guest Lecture on IPR Awareness, Patents & Industrial Design Protection

In today's increasingly dynamic, information-based economy, an understanding of IPR is essential. Academic institutions, where many of society's brightest students first learn about and practice innovation and entrepreneurship, awareness of IPR is especially important. In this regard, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Civil Engineering in association with IIC, GLBITM organized a guest lecture on “IPR Awareness, Patents & Industrial Design Protection” on occasion of World Intellectual Property Day (26th April 2023) from 3:15PM to 4:15 PM. The speaker of the event is Adv. Uvaish Khan, trademark Attorney, Founder U & S Legal Consultants. It aims to create awareness among participants on various aspects of IPR, including the protection of intellectual rights, capacity building, and related issues. Total 58 participants attended the event in hybrid mode.
The major goal of this event is to raise knowledge about intellectual property rights (IPRs), which have become more important in all aspects of socioeconomic growth.
The speaker discussed about:
• Importance of Patents
• Types of rights under IPR
• Importance of privacy in idea till patent stage
• Help in realizing the goals of the National IPR Policy.
• Trademarks and Copyright.

Speaker also enhanced IPR awareness amongst them and that would result in an increased their IP portfolio.
