Initially, the innovation & incubation centre was started with the name of Microsoft Innovation Centre (MIC), in the North Indian Region inaugurated at GL Bajaj Institute of Technology & Management, on June 17, 2013. This was Microsoft's first and only tie up in the Northern region in which GL BAJAJ Institute of Technology & Management provided all the infrastructural services like air-conditioned state of the art office space of about 5500 sq. ft. along with computing facilities with high-speed internet, while Microsoft Corp provided their enterprise software development. platforms free of cost for two years to the selected incubates. The inauguration ceremony witnessed presence of M Victoria Grady (Senior Director, Technical Audience Marketing & Evangelism, Microsoft), Mr. Joseph Landes, (General Manager-India Developer and Platform Evangelism), Ms. Jennifer Ritzinger, Senior Director, Developer & Platform Evangelism). Mr. Phani Kondepudi (Director Academic Programs), Pratima Amonkar (Director-Strategic Audience Marketing), Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi (Head- Academic Programs & Initiatives) and Balaji Kesavaraj (Director Cross Audience Marketing-DPE from Microsoft.
After Initial three years of collaboration with Microsoft ended, the centre was renamed as GL BAJAJ Centre for Research and Incubation (GLBCRI) is defined as the translation of knowledge and technologies in the form of new-fangled and improve products and services. GLBCRI strives to train and develop students and budding professionals with intense focus on Technological development and career grooming.
This centre is recognized by DC MSME’s Start in UP scheme as an Incubator. It has total capacity of startups seat in around 36 sitting areas, conference room, Meeting room, Canteen facility & work space.
