The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management was established in the year 2005 with a vision to help the IT boom and fulfil the need of dynamic Software Engineers globally. Since then, especially in the last ten years of the IT revolution, the department has taken long strides and is now among one of the best department in the college. The Department aims to nurture students in terms of modern computer techniques and to prepare them, to cope well with the technical advancements in future. Computer Science being the flagship branch of Engineering takes focus in scientific research, scientific programming, and software engineering.

The Department offers
The Department offers four years Bachelor’s Degree Program in Computer Engineering with an intake of 300, two years Master’s Degree program in Computer Engineering with an intake of 18 .The Department conducts various Seminars, Workshops, Conferences, Symposiums, Short term training and Certifications from reputed groups in accordance to the demand of the future technical needs.
The department is the proud record holder of University results as well as placements in industries. The Department also holds the record of best placement percentage in the college till date. Several fortune 500 IT industries such as Amazon, TCS, Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, Persistent Systems, Zensar,, L & T Info-tech, KPIT visit our campus for campus Interviews and recruitments and end up with good amount of student signing up for these groups. Several alumni of the Department are working at key positions in industries in India and abroad such as Oracle, IBM, GE, Microsoft, Yahoo etc. Several others of them have passed various competitive examinations such as GATE, GRE, TOEFL, CAT, MAT etc. with excellent scores and secured their admissions in premier educational Institutions in India and Universities abroad.
The Degree program is spread over four years with two semesters in each year. Students study five theory courses and work on assignments in two or three laboratory courses in each semester. The first year of engineering is common to all disciplines. The students learn basic courses in Computer Engineering, such as Discrete Structures, Data Structures, Digital Logic and Microprocessors in second year engineering. The courses such as Data Bases, Software Engineering, Signal Processing, Computer Networks and Theory of Computation are offered in third year engineering. Students present seminar on topic as per their interest and also carry out a mini project in a group of 3/4 students. In the final year engineering students not only study core courses such as Algorithms, Compilers, Object Oriented Modelling, Advanced Computer Architecture, Distributed Operating Systems, but also choose elective courses as per their interest. Students’ also carryout project work geared to the needs of the industry.
The Department is dedicated in being the part of the tech revolution in the coming year by upbringing and maintaining a high level of Computer Education Standard for every individual member with a positive vision to help the nation and society.
